Sheridan Optical, an independent full-service ophthalmic laboratory serving eye-care professionals throughout the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast, has been awarded the Unity® Gold Seal of Excellence from VSP Optics for the second consecutive year — a distinction recognizing Unity Partner Labs that consistently demonstrate outstanding quality, precision manufacturing, and process control in the production of Unity Progressive Lenses and TechShield® Anti-Reflective Coatings. The Unity Gold Seal of Excellence is managed by VSP Optics, a leader in ophthalmic technology and lens solutions.
This recognition is reserved for laboratories that meet or exceed VSP's highest standards for performance, testing accuracy, and product consistency. Sheridan Optical is the only family-owned, independently-built lab in the Eastern United States to hold the certification, and has remained independently owned and operated since its founding in 1978.

The Unity Gold Seal of Excellence helps eye-care professionals identify trusted lab partners dedicated to quality and performance — ensuring every Unity lens meets the standards that patients and practitioners expect. To receive the seal, labs must pass a standard quality validation process to demonstrate they are equipped to produce high-quality Unity lenses and TechShield AR Coatings. Following validation, a lab's work is tested regularly over a 12-week period to evaluate ongoing performance and consistency.
